We choose this campground based on the extensive advertising in Woodall's. What a big mistake!! First it started with the potholed dirt road we had to travel down to reach the campground and then the same condition of road continued throughout the campground. There were several permanent residents with extremely old trailers with makeshift porches and shelters. Our attempt to use the indoor heated pool was deterred as the pool was closed. We felt the $38 rate was rather high since it didn't include sewer, cable or Wi-Fi - just water and electric. One good point was that the sites were level. I would never camp here again, nor recommend this campground to a friend.

We have camped from coast to coast so we are very seasoned campers. This park is the perfect campground. It combines the camping wilderness atmosphere with the amenities we all come to enjoy. We had the opportunity to meet one of the friendly workers, Barb Pataki. She explained that Mr. King could not find a campground he liked so he created his own. Well, hats off to Mr. King because this is one tremendous campground. Chris checked us in and he couldn't have been more courteous and helpful. The booklet they have prepared answers any question you might have and gives valuable local information. It is the best check in information I have ever received. Whoever created the booklet did a tremendous job. The park itself had nice paved roads and fairly level sites. Our site had been freshly raked and fire pit all cleaned out. What a nice welcome that gives you. There is beautiful landscaping throughout the park which makes you feel like you are in a resort. They had several recycling points. There were several very nice walking paths also. There was a great adult center which had a lounge like a National Park Lodge. I agree with a prior review that they did not burden you with lots of silly rules. Also, there were no out dated seasonal rigs in the park. As you can tell, we cannot say enough good things about this park. The only negative is that the price is a little steep but you certainly get what you pay for.

We very rarely camp at a KOA as they are usually over priced and sites are close together. However, this park had good reviews and has won several awards from the KOA Corporation. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience here. The site we were assigned was extremely slanted. When we inquired back at the office for a level site we were told none of them are level. We did try another site but we could never level up. The manager did give us a full refund.

We came to this campground at the last minute as our site at the KOA was less than desirable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and took extra time to ensure that our site would be level. The roads were paved and the sites were grassy. Sites could have been a little larger. One of the best attractions was that the fire ring was a little area in the forest. So, you really felt like you were camping and the fire ring was surrounded by rocks so it looked more natural than just a tire ring. We stayed in the area which is on the river and we thoroughly enjoyed taking our chairs and books and just relaxing with the river right before us. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a nice park. The check in staff was extremely friendly and the view of the river was tremendous. However, the site we had was carved into the mountain side and made it extremely unsafe to get to your basement compartments in your motor home. Also, there had been several days of rain so the acess road, dirt roads in the campground and our site were pot holed and water logged. Our leveling jacks were submersed in water. If the sites had not been carved into the side of the hill which made the water table so high we might not have had a site which had so much water on it that would not drain. The pool was not open yet and the lounge was merely an unheated garage area. We did not use the showers as we have a hard time understanding why you pay $40 a day and still have to pay additional money for a shower. Perhaps in a time when there is not rain it might be a nice place to stay.

The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in. All streets were paved. Sites were grassy and level although they were rather close together. There were several seasonals but all the rigs were up to date and well maintained. The pool was not heated so it was much too cold to swim. Also, the shower was metered which we have a hard time understanding @ a rate of $42 a night. All in all this is a very nice campground and we would definitely stay here again.

Very nice campground, even though it is a bit pricey. The sites were level, staff was friendly and there was a reasonable distance between sites. If we are in this area again, we would definitely stay here.

Sites were very close together and several extended stay sites. We camped here at the beginning of the season and several facilities were not quite ready (laundramat, ie). Wifi was available at the office but at the site it was $10 a day - rather steep in our estimation. We stayed here for a week but it was not mentioned to us that there was a weekly wifi rate which would have been much more reasonanable. Our biggest concern is for us Veterans. When we checked in I inquired if there were any discounts available and the response was that they give the best price to all customers. However, I later learned there is a military discount but you have to ask for it. Well, I don't quite understand that when I inquired about discounts this wasn't mentioned. The manager did ultimately give us the military discount but as he said, "on the Cape you don't ask about politics, religion and the military". Wow, quite a slap in the face to the veterans who have sacrificed so many much for our country!!!!!
